★★★★★

My brother and I recently went on a 3-day backcountry motorcycle adventure with Jody from Moto Experience, and it’s safe to say it was one of the most memorable riding trips we’ve ever had.

From the very beginning, Jody stood out as an exceptional guide—experienced, patient, and full of knowledge about both the terrain and the bikes. He struck the perfect balance of professionalism and fun, making the entire journey smooth and engaging for riders of different skill levels.

We kicked off our trip in Pemberton, a gateway to some of British Columbia’s most stunning landscapes. I’ve got more riding experience than my brother, but most of mine is on cruisers and road bikes (I usually ride a Yamaha Roadstar Warrior). This adventure was my first true introduction to long stretches of off-road riding, and it did not disappoint.

The Bikes

We rode Kawasaki KLR 650s, which couldn’t have been a better choice for this kind of trip. Each bike was tuned specifically for us before we arrived, so everything felt dialed-in from the start. The KLR has just the right balance of power—plenty of torque and kick for challenging terrain, but not so much that it overwhelms you. For someone used to heavy torque at the tap of a throttle, I was impressed at how capable and confidence-inspiring these dual-sports were on dirt, gravel, and narrow mountain trails.

The Ride & Connectivity

The first day gave us a chance to get comfortable with the bikes and settle into the rhythm of riding together. We used Sena intercoms, which made a huge difference. Being able to stay connected—especially on dusty trails where visibility drops and the lead rider disappears into the haze—kept the ride safe, organized, and fun.

The Lodge & Recovery

At the end of a long, dusty, adrenaline-packed day, we arrived at the T’Yax Lodge, and it was everything you could want in an off-road retreat. The food was absolutely incredible (some of the best meals I’ve had on a motorcycle trip, hands down), and the amenities were perfect for recovery. Between the saunas, steam room, and hot tub, we were able to relax sore muscles and recharge for the next day’s adventure.

The Overall Experience

What made this trip so special was the combination of thrilling off-road riding, stunning BC backcountry scenery, and world-class guiding from Jody. My brother, who had less off-road experience, felt comfortable and encouraged the entire time, while I was still challenged enough to feel like I was leveling up my own riding skills.

This wasn’t just a motorcycle tour—it was an unforgettable adventure. If you’re looking to experience British Columbia in a way few people ever do, and you want the perfect mix of excitement, comfort, and expert guidance, I cannot recommend Moto Experience enough.
